Healthy Desserts Kids Love -In Under 5 Minutes

Healthy desserts do not have to taste like cardboard or take forever to make out of exotic ingredients.

In today’s blog post I will show you how to make healthy desserts kids love in under 5 minutes with only 2 ingredients.

All you will need is 1 cup of dates, 1 cup of peanuts and a food processor.

Here we go…

First place 1 cup of dates in a food processor.

Chop until small.

Then add 1 cup of salted peanuts.

Chop until dates and peanuts are a fine texture.

Place on a flat surface and press flat.  About 1/4 an inch.  You can go thicker if you wish.

Cut into squares.

Less than 5 minutes later and you are done!

If you wish to stack the bars, place wax paper between them so they don’t stick together.

You can get very creative with these bars.  I called the post healthy desserts (plural) because just like the smoothie base recipe from last week, this recipe can be eaten as is or be the base for many more recipes.  Add some chocolate chips or dried apricots or strawberries or apple bits and you have a “new” dessert.  The possibilities are really endless.

Not only are these bars rediculously fast to make, the biggest bonus is that your kids can help you in the kitchen and have fun at the same time.  What kid doesn’t love to push buttons on a food processor?

I would love to hear your favorite rendition on this bar.  Leave a comment below.  Or send me a picture and I will feature your family in an upcoming blog!

Happy Eating,

Summer Joy
