Thanksgiving, the wonderful day that all of the millions of blessings in our lives come to light.
Today I am thankful for…
my children whose laughs and giggles instantly bring me absolute bliss, my loving husband who is my best friend, my parents who have provided the absolute best foundation to grow and blossom from, my brothers and sisters who were my role models as I grew up, my nieces and nephews for bringing sparkle into the family (especially all the laughs at Christmas), all the youth who came to our house who taught me to be compassionate, my in-laws for welcoming me into the family and of course my friends who are so fun to be around.
My list could go on and on as there truly are millions of blessings in our lives from health, a roof over our heads, food on the table to the simpler things like the fact that the sun shines everyday! Even on the cloudy days, the sun is still there shining, just waiting for the moment to peek through the clouds. Many of life’s blessings are this way, they are always there waiting to peek through, if we are gracious enough to notice.
This week we started a Wall of Thanksgiving in our home. I put a huge post it note on our wall and the boys excitedly raced for the markers to write their thoughts. It was so fun to see what the boys were thankful for -horses so that they could ride them (and no we do not own a horse, I wish!), the cat we used to have before the allergies and of course, family. It was such a hit with the boys that our Wall of Thanksgiving will continue for weeks to come. It has become our official Thanksgiving craft. Now if I can just find a place to store the huge piece of paper until next year!
